Maui Wowi is a Champion...

Maui Wowi is a champion....or at least we'll be one (we hope) when we open tomorrow at Champions Fieldhouse in Rockville, MD. This is a HUGE facility -- something like 70,000 square feet.

Not much going on there....just basketball, volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, irish dancing....every field, every weekend....on something like 20 fields....

Hopefully we'll be so busy we won't have time to update this blog, but for now, gotta run cause we've got tons of setting up to do to get ready for a (hopefully) busy weekend.

What better place than to bring Maui Wowi than to a health fair?

Well, that's exactly what Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) did.

SSAI was sponsoring a health fair for its employees. Staff could get a flu shot, visit lots of health vendors, get health screenings.....but was the most popular booth of the event?

YUP -- Maui Wowi Smoothies! So much so we had to close early -- we went way over our cup count but it was such a big hit we didn't want to leave.

It's not going to be great weather, but we'll be at the Germantown Soccerplex all day Saturday. And on Sunday we'll be at the Latino Festival at Frederick Community College. Don't worry -- we'll be well stocked for whatever the weather brings. If it's raining, we'll put an umbrella in your smoothie or you can get a hot koko (chocolate) to warm you up. Maui Wowi Hits the College Campuses This Week

Maui Wowi was welcoming students back to school all week with fresh blended fruit smoothies. Hopefully you got to stop by and grab a free one -- yes that 4 letter word is right -- FREE.

We were at the Community College of Baltimore County - Catonsville on Monday. Tuesday we went to Carroll Community College and Friday we finished up at Community College of Baltimore County - Essex.

What A Way To Start Off the School Year . . .

University of Baltimore welcomed students and faculty back to school with beautiful weather, great food on the grill, and of course our signature Maui Wowi fresh fruit smoothies.

It was 4 hours of non-stop blending, but no one minded standing in line. People came back again and again just to try the different flavors. Most asked question of the day was "Where is your store?" So if you ever fly out of Dulles Airport, make sure you stop by the 2 Maui Wowi stores in the airport.

Tonight's the final night! It's been a lot of fun -- 8 nights of movies -- 70,000 people -- and too many smoothies to count! Weather was great (quite a bit hot, but that's good for smoothies), except on the one night it rained -- and ironically enough the movie was "Singing in the Rain" -- boy that got a lot of jokes that night. But our smoothies all had an umbrella so everyone was well protected :)

Sad Day

Today was a very sad day. We became a victim of the economy and were forced to close our store in the mall in Frederick, MD. To those who were so loyal, MAHALO! We will definitely miss seeing you!

But even though we're no longer in the mall, we're still around. We've got 2 stores at Dulles Airport and we'll being doing plenty of events all around the area.

State Farm "Insures" Their Agents Have A Maui Wowi Day!

Maui Wowi's been busy catering State Farm agencies in the Washington, DC area. See, this year's travel prize is a trip to Hawaii, so what a better way to keep people motivated than to bring Hawaii to them?

And that's exactly what we've been doing. We've been bringing our catering cart, smoothie blends, and lots of Aloha Spirit to make sure everyone at State Farm has a Maui Wowi Day!

Maui Wowi Supports YMCA Healthy Kids Day

It was a BEAUTIFUL and HEALTHY day at the YMCA in Frederick, MD. Everyone came out to participate in fun and games and watch lots of performances, including dancers, clowns and magicians.

Of course, Maui Wowi was there providing free samples of their delicious and healthy smoothies to everyone. The biggest question asked was "Where is your store?"

Even Dogs Love Maui Wowi

It was a BEAUTIFUL day and all of the dogs were out for the Montgomery County Humane Society's Paws in the Park Walk.

While the dogs slurped up some ice cold water, Maui Wowi was blending up fresh fruit smoothies for everyone.

The line lasted all day, but everyone who wanted a smoothie got one. It was definately an event to remember. Hope to see everyone again next year! Mahalo!

Maui Wowi a Huge Hit at CME's 5K Run

Carroll Manor Elementary held their FIRST ever 5K Run and Kids Fun Walk -- and what fun it was! Over 200 participants arrived early -- 6:30am -- and Maui Wowi was ready with hot kona coffee. But it was after the run that Maui Wowi got slammed and was doing some running of its own -- running of the blenders and running to keep product moving, that is. Everyone lined up to get a 100% natural fresh fruit smoothie -- and they loved it! For everyone that came out that day, thanks for your support! A Great 21st Birthday Celebration

Maui Wowi catered Candace May's 21st birthday celebration. It was a total surprise to her -- she showed up to the house expecting to go out to dinner, but everyone greeted her with a big ALOHA and immediately brought her over to bar so she could get a fresh fruit smoothie -- WITH ALCOHOL -- of course!

After everyone had a bit to drink, they dug into the delicious catered meal, including Hawaiian bbq, Maui chips, and Hawaiian pasta salad.

After a few more Maui Wowi's (yes, with alcohol), everyone started singing karaoke and sat by the bonfire. The party lasted well into the night and I assure you there will be plenty of memories from that evening -- if they weren't too hungover the next day to remember.

Help Maui Wowi Help Kids Are Heroes

Maui Wowi is deeply involved in an organization called Kids Are Heroes, a web site that inspires children to change the world by showcasing those that already have. Please see www.kidsareheroes.com.

Recently our contact at Kids Are Heroes saw a note from Richard Branson asking people to pitch ideas via a 2 minute video to his Pitch TV concept. The idea is that a few select pitches would be chosen to be on his web site for people to vote on. Winners will be played on Virgin Atlantic Airlines as part of their in flight entertainment. Putting these videos in front of business people may provide matches so that projects can be funded. To make a long story shorter Kids Are Heroes sent in their pitch and made his web site. The voting began and closes April 27th. This could provide the organization with the rare opportunity of taking Kids Are Heroes to a global platform, which is our vision. Shamrockfest 2009

The weather wasn't so lucky (it was cold and rainy most of the day), but everyone who attended Shamrockfest was definately lucky cause Maui Wowi was there making hot kona coffee and hot koko all day long. We couldn't brew it fast enough it was so popular! By the end of the day, we were out of water and out of product. We'll have to do better praying to sun god for next year's event. Maui Wowi Celebrates the Lunar New Year

It was a celebration for all in attendance at the LIFE and Discovery's Lunar New Year Celebration at Tuscarora High School in Frederick, MD. The auditorium was packed -- while it only holds 750 people, there were 1200 in attendance.

Despite the wonderful exhibits and presentations, the most exciting part of the evening -- at least according to these guys in the picture -- was getting a Maui Wowi smoothie.

Maui Wowi Celebrates The Lunar New Year

Maui Wowi participated in the Lunar New Year Celebration at the FSK Mall in Frederick, MD. So many great performances -- music, martial arts, arts and crafts. There was so much to see and do, including getting a FREE SAMPLE of a Maui Wowi fresh fruit smoothie. These were the hit of the celebration and everyone who stopped by got a $.50/off coupon to use at the Maui Wowi store located in the mall. The dancing lion stopped by our booth and was given a healthy donation (money) vs a smoothie -- since the donation is said to give lots of health, wealth and good luck in the new year. Maui Wowi smoothies are plenty healthy too (100% natural), but we think the lion didn't want to drink while dancing.

Hawaii Comes to Gettysburg in January
